Dash crack sealer?
Hi all.
I'm a new owner of one of these fine machines, though I have been drooling and dreaming for quite a while. In general, it is in very good shape for a 100k mile car. The dash, however, is a little warped and has a 1" crack running straight out from the upper left-hand corner of the glove compartment. I heard there was a discussion here recently about a way to seal dash cracks, but couldn't find it. Does anyone have a suggestion on a way to prevent the crack from growing until I can replace the dash?
Thanks!

I also have been wanting to replace my dash even though the cracks are small. In my lighthearted attempt to fix them I have used some material from www.leatherique.com. They also supplied me with black die that matched.
It looks much better but is still noticeable. Also, it is almost impossible to find a used one without cracks and new ones are expensive.

Larry,
Welcome to the club!
From your description, I am 99% sure you don't have a leather covered dash. Operating on that assumption, you might want to check out Eastwood (Eastwood.com, I think). They sell a lot of restoration tools and whatnot, some of which are actually useful.
They do offer a vinyl repair kit for ~$40 that might be worth a shot. I have a leather (ugh) dash so I have not tried it on my 928. I have used similar systems on other cars, and have achieved acceptable results for minimum $.
Also, last time I checked, Just Dashes (in TX) does a very nice rebuild of the vinyl dashes for about $500.
HTH,
Greg
