Post What's the deal wit 928.com Ver 2.0

I received my X brace from 928 SP today and BOY am I upset!
First of all it was BACK ORDERED! Can you imagine? They must sell thousands of these a week and they didn't have one in stock!
Secondly it was packed in a TRIANGULAR box!! Who ever heard of packaging an X brace in a triangular box?
I'll admit that it's well made and looks great, but the next time I'll just pick one up from Pep Boys.
Anyone know the Pep Boys stock number for a 928 X brace?

I don't understand what your problem is. You say you got a great product, which happened not to be in stock when you ordered it. What's the big deal with that?

And why does the shape of the package upset you? Isn't it most important what's inside?

Sorry, but I don't get your post...

Unless I'm stupid, he's being majorly scarcastic.

Part number at pep boys! HA.. Yea, thats gonna happen!

1,000s of X bars every week? I would be suprised if any of the "big" three move 1,000s of items, total, in a week. Maybe combined, but not alown!!!

And complain about the box. What other size box do you want? A decogon shaped one? A cylinder? Thats so absured that it's not even remotely possible to take seriously. Kinda like my spelling!

Some people have a hard time about being serious about anything. Ernest seems to be one.

I would have folded the bar to make it fit in a shoe box to save $.50 on shipping!

Next thing you know they will be shipping T-shirts out in triangular boxes. What a mess.

Those incompetents at 928 SPEC!!

I just got a couple of boxes of brake and suspension upgrade stuff I had ordered...about $1300 worth.

TWO BIG PROBLEMS....

First - Jeannie had advised me that a couple of things were on order, and the dang box came BEFORE she told me to expect it...

THEN...Everything was there - EXCEPT - they ADDED a free t-shirt...WHAT ARE THEY THINKING....It TOTALLY screwed up my inventory control system....I'll be up for hours trying to reconcile the inventory report!!

You think that's bad, how about this one.

I WANTED to spend 4 times more $ than I had to at 928 Spec. I called asking for the Original Porsche metal tire valve sleeves. "That girl" who answered the phone told me that I could buy the same thing at my local auto parts store for far less $ than the original Porsche product would cost. As "that girl" stated, "there's no magic Porsche fairy dust sprinkled on the sleeves, they're just metal sleeves". The nerve!!! Trying to look out for me!! Trying to save me money!!

And then to top it all off, "that girl" had the nerve to invite me to a Sharks in the Mountains picnic weekend and road tour. For FREE!!

Will it ever stop? What's next, free tech advice when you call?

You think THAT's bad!! Try dealing with those clowns at 928 Int'l, down there on the left coast!!

In my earnest (pun intended) efforts to get the car on the road for a local Show & Shine, after a winter of slaving over a hot trouble-light, I over-cleaned the liner out of the throttle-rod ball end, effectively disabling the car 4 days from the event. I called Jim, and the big bozo said that they'd never had a request for that part before. I guess he's never dealt with anyone as earnest about clean parts as me, before.

Anyway, he said he'd "have someone poke around and see if they could find an example of the item". I explained my situation vis-a-vis the Show & Shine, and he mumbled somthing like "ya-ya, we'll see what we can do".

Now it's no mean trick to get things past the Customs Maze in a hurry, after the 9/11 debacle, and one would think he'd know about THAT!

The long and the short of it is that those clowns found the item, packed it in what looked like a pizza box, and probably told someone at FedEx that the "pizza was to be delivered HOT", because the thing arrived on the Thursday (day 3), making me thrash on the car Friday night AND Saturday, to get to the event Sunday.

Sheesh....... 3 days to get a pizza box from California, through customs and out to Podunk, Rural-Alberta!!

To top it all off, 928 SP sold me a set of S03s for about $100.00 less than I could get them at tire rack AND had them drop shipped to my local installer in about two days.
Talk about your cheap marketing tricks!!

You know what I find annoying? On that occasion when they don't carry something they actually tell people to call me. Like I don't have enough to do already. Then to top it off they insist I show up to there event this weekend.
The nerve.
