Remove carpet panels on each side of center console. The cc brain is on the floor of tunnel at extreme front. There is one screw accessible from each side.

The brain is about the size of an index card. While Dave (above) is right about the two small hex screws, you may want to ultimately pull it out from the passenger's side (WSM suggestion). For best clearance, remove the L-bracket that sticks through the carpeting and supports the junk shelf.

If you're going to test it's electical integrity, the WSM (for once!) is pretty clear on the steps.

My system holds vacuum but it does not work Roger said resoldering the circuit board sometimes works. Seems like I have a aftermarket Radio transformer filter hung on the drivers side I can see the pass side bolt. Another PIA to do a little work I'm sure!

If I recall the socket needed is 7mm. It comes out from passenger side fairly easy but it is tight. Thee is ample wire to turn and pull it though.

You should consider removing the passenger's side tray too. Makes things a lot easier.

I never had any luck with resoldering the joints. The board is coated with a varnish and you have to burn through the varnish to get to the solder so it makes a big mess.

GDL rebuilds them but will not take a resoldered unit for a core, so before you mess yours up talk to him. Here is the link.
