MARK FAST QUOTE :Hey there Curious George. You can have Delta's/Erik's/Bernie's stolen kit "ideas" too if you're curious enough to be 0-in-3.
"oh man, did I blow another one? Doh!" (Homer Simpson)

Mark what are you getting at with that comment. The only supercharger I have is for my race car. Please respond.

For The Record.....

I am in the professional audio industry by trade. I have no business involvement with either Chris Clouser or Eric Munck. My association with both individuals is based solely on the enjoyment of the Porsche 928.
Mark appears to not be able to discern between the words invention and innovation. I will keep your business dealings with Eric out of the picture because I believe they are not the same topic.
If FAST was the company that "invented" the supercharger kit for the 928, then hats off to FAST for getting the ball rolling. I would assume though, that some individual somewhere, supercharged the 928 long before FAST ever developed a kit. So maybe FAST invented a kit - great job.
It would be rather silly to assume that there will never be another "innovation" based on the original kit. Just like there is more than one supercharger manufacturer.
It seems that Mark would like you to believe that the Delta kit is a complete "ripoff" of the FAST kit? If anyone has seen pictures of the FAST bracket and pulley system compared to the Delta parts, they would see that they are extremely different in many respects.
The fact that an individual got the idea from existing parts in the marketplace does not make it a ripoff or a copy. It means that somebody took an existing product and advanced it to another level. Mark has stated that the FAST kit is three years old and they saw no reason to change it - that's fine. Someone else did have a reason to change it and he did. That's called innovation.
I can't see how anyone can challenge this???

If you like the FAST kit, then by all means, purchase one.

It seems crushing and unfair to someone (Chris Clouser) who has invested a huge amount of time and effort in creating these new parts, to call it a ripoff.

These parts are very well built. Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Bernie,

Might I suggest a strategic withdrawal on your part? Especially your tendency to "speak for other people". You have very little credibility here right now, lots of unsubstantiated opinion, few facts and your SC experience (by your own words) seems limited to driving other people's cars, apparently without their authorization.

Nobody was trying to say that the development, improvement or innovation was bad.

There is obviously some bad blood between FAST and Munck, understandably so. Munck has stolen from FAST, literally. If he is sharing these parts with others then it is ostensibly a rip off IMO.

I give Chris tons of credit for trying to improve something. He is even doing to to facilitate the desires of some to run more boost, something the FAST kit was not designed for. That is all well and good in my book. I would seriously caution someone like Chris to reconsider the company he has placed himself in by associating with Munck. It could easily prove to bve the downfall of something positive.

As Gretch mentioned credibility is important. Munck has none around here. Those that defend him fall into the same catagory, those who associate with him risk the same.

JUST MY OPINIONS

MARK @ FAST: I still have not gotten your response to my queston about 0 and 3. If thats a reference to being connected to Abby Short then guess again. I have a blower motor it makes 1850hp and its in a completly different realm than these toys you are fooling with. When I have a problem I get real solutions from real professionals. But problems are few and far between. If and when I decide to build a 928 with a blower the most common comment you guys will hear about it is how in the hell did he do that. If you think I'm bull****ting call Rickey Best @ vortech superchargers and ask him if I'm a clown or a real player. BTW I run a procharger F3R with a 408" smallblock thats makes 1850hp. I won two world championships 1997 and 1999 running superchargers both with a vortech supercharger. Mark if you get up against the wall on a problem call me, I might be able to get Rickey Best to help you out.

George,

I can't stand to see you post again over nothing

Mark was taking a stab at the Munck crew. You just happened to have the post previous. It was nothing at all against you as near as I can tell. Can we stop the posturing?

I read it as they have blown up two cars, WHO will be the next sucker. I am telling you, as I read it, it was pure coincidence that your name was in the post, RELAX

Brent 89 GT: Mark @ Fast comments makes it sound like he was implicating me to Erik. I am just trying to help my good friend get himself out of a jam. I am by no means trying to make a business out of blower applications, if anything I love the idea. I have a 911 but my favorite porsche motor is the 928 V8, I love cubic inchs. No replacement for displacement.

George,

So when *are* you going to get into a 928???

I'm sure you'll straighten out all this supercharger hoopla for us.

We just don't want to have to tear it down as often as a motor that makes 1850HP, though.

I'm am really trying to find a project car. I think the ideas out hear are great, it just takes I hate to say it like this but some "test dummys'. I see a bright future ahead for power. I also think that a small shot of the giggle gas is something that needs to be looked at. Its a cheap instant power adder if used right, again I say right not trying to spray the house down in a safe mode.
BTW: Old and New we change the head gaskets in the mustang after every race which is about 12-14 passes. We just want to be safe, remember we making about 37lbs of boost.

George,
It is great news that you are looking for a project car. You seem to have the resources to do it right. What sort of set up are you considering centrifugal, roots, screw?

I would like to see what my limits are in the plan old stock form. I would look into top end mods with maybe a little shot of nitrous. I also think that the vette 6-speed trans is something to really look at for a major upgrade. If the motor makes 250hp with a little massage and a shot of B-12 325hp is there in stock plain jane trim add a 6-speed and nice et's are around the corner.

Gee, George, I figured you would want to start with the 288 or 316 horse motors; those 250's are hard to find.

>Brent,
>Marcus3 seems to endorse the FAST stock kit on >the "White GTS" post.

I am indeed a FAST supercharger kit owner, I will say I have had NO trouble with it what-so-ever.

I will add that I did redesign the tensioner, I did this because I have increased the boost 3 times the amount their tensioner was built for. The bracket they build for the supercharger is still on the car, with NO modifications needed even at a much higher boost level.

Also, I read that Bernie is slating the FAST stuff as inferior to this "new Bracket", I don't understand why, especially when he has NO first hand experience with actually supercharging the 928 and he doen't even have a supercharged 928 in his garage with this "new kit" on it.... yet.

very stange, oh well... over and out.

Marcus
