Pittsburgh Gathering Reminder - July 14,15 (Long)
Hi All - Our get together is a mere 10 days away! Just got the t-shirts, and they look good, and all of you who communicated with me already about them, I have set them aside and you are good to go!
We have about 7 cars pre-registered at this point, and I believe there are another half dozen or so additional coming in for the event (there will be over 150 Porsches there). So if you haven't registered with the local Porsche Club yet, please do so soon. That link (for the Allegheny region PCA) again is www.arpca.com, and just click thru until you get the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix registration form.
When you come in for the event, please note a couple of things. First, the infamous "Parkway East", which for you out of towners is interstate 376, will be closed in-bound to Pittsburgh for that weekend, from Wilkinsburg all the way in. If you are coming in from the south or east, your best bet will be either:
(i) take the PA turnpike west to the Cranberry exit, get off there and head south on I-79 to I-279 south to Pittsburgh - take the Veterans Bridge to Oakland, which is where Schenley Park is, and where we are gathering. or
(ii) take I-70 to I-79 North and follow that to the Pittsburgh exit and proceed in thru there.
The event itself is at Schenley Park, located in the east side of the City. Come in via Forbes Ave, where it insects with Darlington Road, and the road turns into Schenley Drive. We will be down a little way, in on the left on the grass, just past the Ferraris. A map of the park can be found at the PVGP website at www.pvgp.org (link thru to the car shows and the map will be there).
You'll get your registration package when you get there, with the meal tickets and the other goodies. Look for the 928OC banner, and you'll find us there. I'll have the t-shirts too (supplies are limited for those of you who haven't told me that you are coming tho - so be early). You won't receive anything in the mail prior to the event, so don't worry about that.

Great! I look forward to meeting you too. Also, bring the Elise - there will be other Lotuses, altho not sure where they'll be parked....
