So that is for the sunroof? only older model car? I wonder why mine has it??

You use it to manually wind the seats fore/aft if that breaks - since you have to be able to move them fore/aft to get the seats out. It also is used on cars with metal plugs to remove the tow hook cover.

When you unscrew the screw in the sunroom transmission mechanism, so as to use the winder tool, be cautious about the washers under there and don't lose them. I think they may provide friction? At any rate, I found three (very thin ones). There may be more than 3....anyone know? The tool works slick.

I had to use an impact screwdriver to get that screw out on one of them,
