Question Pittsburgh Area Mechanics

Since moving from Detroit, I have been unable to find a reliable (or any, for that matter) mechanic to take my shark to. I am in need of a new rack and motor mounts, and have no garage or engine hoist of my own. Any suggestions? Checking the various sites on the net haven't helped yet.

Thanks,

Shawn

Ever consider Richlin Imports out in Harrison City? He's expensive, but he's good. I've used him as the regular technician for my 928, and he has yet to mislead me or do anything less than a first rate job. If you're looking for someone with whom to entrust your investment, he and his crew are certainly deserving of consideration.

Their toll free number is 1-800-798-5134, while they can also be reached at (724) 744-4044. If you'd prefer, his e-mail address is Richlin111@aol.com assuming he hasn't changed it in the recent past, though if I remember correctly, he didn't often check it.

I'd be interested to see if anyone else has suggestions regarding other possibilities. Though they're quite good over there, I just can't afford to take the car to them for every minor thing anymore. Anything potentially major, however, they're still my go-to guys until someone can convince me of the same quality attainable with lower invoices.

Off the subject, any thoughts on getting out to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix on the weekend of July 20? With Porsche as the featured marque, you're bound to make some great contacts! That's my plan assuming I don't get stuck going out of town that weekend, which is seeming more and more likely unfortunately.

Didn't think to mention earlier that you might consider dropping a line on the Allegheny Region PCA Chapter Forum. The site can be found here. They're not the most frequently populated boards around, but should someone check back, no doubt they would be more than willing to offer whatever references they may have. Only reason I mention this is simply because I believe a few of them reside around your neck of the woods, moreof the North Hills area.

Just a thought. If you ever need an extra pair of completely inexperienced hands, just let me know!

Thanks for the contacts. I am going to give Richlin a call next week for an informal. I will also continue to look nearer me, as there are a few foreign car mechanic shops that I have see. I'll be sure to post with any reasonable places I find.

More than likely, I will make it down to the Grand Prix. djazz, keep in touch as to whether you are going to make it.
