Default momo shift **** for automatic

I recently purchased an automatic momo shift **** for the car. The problem i'm having is it seems that in order for it to function correctly it has to be positioned very high on the shifter, it's actually mounts higher than the standard stock L shaped ****. I have seen some other pictures of the same shift **** on other member 928's and it seems to be lower. Below is a picture of someones car with the the exact **** which seems to be lower has anyone had an issue like this.

Where did you get the shifter **** and boot from? I was looking for something like that.

The picture is not of my vehicle, I was trying to point out how the shifter **** sits on the shifter. I purchased a small boot that replaces the rubber boot from jager engineering they also sell a full boot cover as well.

That looks about the same height as mine. I think the leather boot makes it appear lower in your picture. I still only have the old rubber bellows!

If you were careful, you could remove the plastic plunger from the shaft and cut it down some. You obviously wouldn't be able to go back to stock though then.

PS. Thanks Perry!

I beg to differ that it is mounted higher than the stock "T" handle, as in the case of my '79. I just installed mine on the weekend and had to cut off about 1/2" from the top of the shifter tube to get it even with the top of the plunger inside the tube. If you take a good look at the Momo **** from the inside you'll see what you're dealing with and you'll realize you could theoretically shorten the shifter as much as you like, but you'd have to shorten the plunger as well.
