Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I had a lot of difficulty with the MM + oil pan gasket exchange. What would normally take a day or two, took 1.5 weeks for me to complete. I had difficulty getting the lower control arm and cross member to cooperate. I can't fathom doing the engine removal and additional stuff all by myself. Indeed, Rennlist and the WSM are invaluable assets, but nothing takes the place of an extra set of hands and brains on sight. If something were to go wrong, the nearest mechanic knowledgeable enough is 1 hour away. So.....; but thanks again for having confidence.

So, any details to mention guys?

Regarding the fire, the owner was pretty upset about his car. He had it taken to a shop to repair, but the shop bill was more than he wanted to pay so he sold it. Apparently, the fuse panel and computers were shot as a result. The car was in tip/top shape everywhere else. However, after my troubles with my engine you can believe that this will be the first thing I look into.
