I wanted to ask if anybody here had ever seen this car before.
I went to a car/airplane show in Del Mar CA and their was a 928 that had what looked like a CIS system that that was split in two. Each bank of cylinders had it's own seperate system. The owner of the car said he is unable to register the car because of importing and smog laws. One curious thing was i could find no VIN #'s on the car so i could check the history. If anybody has seen or knows the history of this car please share the info. Thanks Maximillin <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

A "gay" 928? Very kewl.
It was probably an early Euro version [a true 928S] and I wonder about the dual CIS- this is obviously a modification.
There were no cars produced this way by Porsche-
Normy!

I understand it not being a production car that came off the line but by some of the small differences here and their including the fact that thier were no headlights mounted and the openings were being used for air inlets to each aircleaner. Also their were exhaust sampling tubes coming up from each manifold point and what looked like computor plugs mounted just inside the left fender. It did not look like some aftermarket kit, Could it be a test bed car of some sort. I am very curious about this one.

Could that have been one of the DEVEK racing 928s ? At our get-together a few months ago, DEVEK also had a black car that had no lights either. Just a thought...

Sorry Randy, I dont live in San Diego but I keep a boat their. I am in Santa Fe. I really want to track down this info and maybe talk to the owner. He also had a 560 SEC MB that had 2 superchargers on it and a manual transmission. I peeked underneith and the rear suspension had been worked hard for performance.
I Would like to talk to the DEVEK people and see what they know.
Anybody have thier contact info

Randy,,
So your in Mission Bay Marina Village and your dock master should be Bob (also known as woody) if I remember right. I was at the Islandia then i moved to South Bay (Chula Vista) but I kept dragging my keel even at high tide. So Im in the temp dock over by fishermans landing until the spot at Cabrillo Isle Marina just over Harbor Drive next to the airport comes open. I understand that Mission bay may be getting pulled out along with Driscoll's to make way for new condos, is this true? And if you want to know I left Islandia in mission bay is because every time I was gone for a extended amount of time, parts and equipment would come up missing. Hope thats enough info for you.
