So I took my son out for dinner last night for his birthday (17th) and where leaving the restaurant when an older gent walks up as we’re leaving.

Son’s like “hey Dad? I think this guy wants to talk to you?”

Turns out the guys a member of the local Porsche Club of America San Diego Region and proceeded to tell me about the up coming Fourth of July Parade and all the PCA events next week. He then asked the $64K question “So are you a member?”

I told him no – I hang out on Rennlist.com.

Anyway he was pretty nice and was very complimentary about my 928 and told me that I should try to make it to some of the events and consider membership. Turns out the Mexican restaurant we where leaving - is a common hot spot used for the region’s monthly social events from time to time. Great considering it’s about 6 minutes from my house.

I’m sure I’ll go but I really don’t want to go by myself and hope some of you other Shark owners turn out too.

I'm off the Fourth of course, but I'm hoping I can finish up a couple issues at work so I can skyout early a couple of afternoons to enjoy some of the other events.

I'm just hoping we can get a few more Sharks together so we can arrive in force.

The concours was a pisadointment, to say the least. Nothing compared to the last (1977) San Diego Parade. I have counted 5 928s so far.

Sadly I got'a work tomorrow but I'm thinking of drivng the Shark to work and swing by the town & country afterwards. Its easy because it's about half way between work at the border and home in Poway.

Hey Ron, I didn't get off work until just now (5PM) and am just to tired to make it over to the beach party. That said after I've rested up a little I'm heading over to a place called In Cahoots later on tonight to see if I can find some gal to join me in some buckle polishing.

Just so you know I tried to call a couple of times but your room’s mail box must be full because I kept getting kicked to a number that just rang & rang. Anyway on the off chance we can muster a few 928 folks tomorrow I’m game so I'll shoot you my cell phone in a PM.
