I'm currently working on several tours that will be upcoming over the next few months... Some PCA affiliated and some for the Rennlist crazies...
On Weds, July 4th, I'm going to cruise the curves with a small group of MOTIVATED people... I'll post specifics tomorrow...
I'm only taking 10-15 cars on this cruise...

#@$%@#$ and my 928 is back in Idaho. I'm in Manassas VA for a 'duration' of unknown time and I had to leave my 914 and 928 in Idaho... it is painful... very painful.

I travel a bit and spend time in some intersting places. Clients pay for rental cars or I'd be shopping for decent rides while I'm there. Rental car bills stack up pretty quickly, since my insurance doesn't tolerate any mini-lease deals over 29 days. Maybe your deal is different. There are plenty of interesting cars around to buy, even if you need to sell them or ship/drive them home. I looked long and hard at Mike's (mcholdfast) S4 offered here a few weeks ago, since I have a few projects in Florida. I just couldn't work out storage logistics between visits. But there are plenty of gatherings and events happening, not just the 928-only group here. Plus you do have to admit that driving a 928 is a lot more fun than a rental SUV or generic Ford/GM/whatever sedan.

sorry for the thread hijack, bull30!
They let us bring two cars, and since my commute is only 7 minutes, I didn't want to thrash on the 928 every day like that. Besides, my garage is a shoebox and my toolchest wouldn't fit! In fact I think I'd have trouble opening the doors on the 928.
We ended up with my wife's volvo and my '91 jetta.
Now that it looks like we may be here for an extended period, I'm having to work out a lot more logistics - for one, selling my house in Idaho, for two: getting the rest of my stuff (including the 928 and one motor-less 914) out here to VA, and for Three: Where to put this stuff?
Right now I'm downsized to the only things that will fit in the garage - my nitro RC cars.

How's the weather in Idaho?
The drive was great. Just under 80 miles, and we did it in about 2 hours plus a 15 minute break. Great tour, lots of excellent twisties. Never got above 70 mph unless we were on the highway (we briefly jumped onto I-15 near Emmitsburg). Only a few interlopers broke up the Porsche/BMW/Mini train (7 Porsches [C4S, 2 996s, 1 964 cab, 2 928s, 1 986], 1 '02 [? not sure on the year] M3 and 1 Mini Cooper S). We passed by Camp David and Trout Run (The Prez' personal fishing retreat). Trout Run had a great series of signs warning speeders to slow down, including one that said "SPEEDERS, PLEASE SMILE" in reference to the closed circuit cameras they had in the trees and on the tollhouse. I did not smile.
What a great road the CiC has to enjoy in his motorcade. I think I caught air on the way up the hill there... I need to go back to get a pic of the sign!
My dad also joined in this ride, and to my surprise engaged in some serious tail wagging in his C2 cabriolet. He usually doesn't push his Porsches, but he definitely enjoyed this ride!
Much easier ride with only 9 cars in the pack. Last ride we had over 70, which while impressive, is hard to manage and resulted in many frustrating slow moments, and one irate 911 owner complaining that we were going too fast! No complainers today. Finished up with a great lunch at a little diner off Rt. 40 west of Frederick. Lunch, however, was cut short by a brief rain shower, causing all of us to dash out to the parking lot when a kind gent who had been admiring our cars came in to give us the weather report.
I'll post some pics later. Didn't get as many as last time as I was spending a lot more time actually driving than last time!

I had a GREAT time leading everyone all over the place yesterday... We had 2 928s on the run... Hopefully more on the next run... Yesterday's crew were my beta testers for an upcoming PCA tour... It's nice cruzin' with 10-15 cars because I can motivate and still keep track of everyone...
I'm sure we were all caught on tape as we buzzed by the entrance to Camp David![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm working on "The Battle of Gettysburg" tour next... I'll let you know when that one is ready to test...
