I would just buy a new radiator. I had my Behr radiator re-tanked 2 years ago and I got a crack in the same place you did while in the high desert of Socal on the way to SATL. Needless to say, that was very inconvenient. The tank should have lasted much longer than that, have a feeling that the tank may have had a flaw or was damaged during installation. Why take the chance?

To amplify Bill's point, if you do decide to get a new radiator, consider the 928 Intl all aluminum one, as he did.
I just did my second sidetank replacement. The first replacement failed at the seal after a couple of years. The tank was visibly warped/balooned from overheating, perhaps in one of my open road race adventures. The original had the more or less classic, essentially invisible crack near the upper fill neck and otherwise looked fine. If this one fails to hold more than a few years, I will do as Bill Swift did. But, sidetank replacement is a viable, less expensive move, especially if the radaitor is otherwise good.
Hopefully someone will recommend a shop in your area. I just called a local shop whose yellow pages ad listed Behr radiators and asked the about plastic sidetanks. They said they did them and had the proper equipment. The only issue was getting the tank. They did not have a source for the 928 tank, so I got it from 928 Intl. So, dont be surprised by that. Figure one hour labor charge to do the tank and that would include cleaning (rodding) the radiator.

You ordered TWO tanks? Only replace the bad one. The tank on the driver side (the cooler side of the radiator) rarely goes and it is best to leave it alone.
