I replaced the central warning brain with a used unit from 928intl and now all lights and functions are working, including the problematic low fuel sender.

Thanks to all for the advise and support.

This is intriguing. My CW box just illuminates a few of the many lamps. I noticed in the schematics Alan sent, that the IC pinouts and card edge connections are pretty well mapped out. It will be interesting to check if the 80's vintage IC and lamp driver data sheets are still available on line. Checking continuity between card edge power/ground and IC pins will probably solve most of my problems.

There are two connectors, black and yellow. If one connector is lose or removed, you can get partial lights. Two lights, brake check and OXS bypass the box and work even if box is unplugged. The WSM includes a few pages that detail the polarity and testing procedure for the various inputs/ouputs on the central warning brain. It makes it easy to rule in/out a particular sensor.
