Default Bad Coil?

I replaced my fuel pump with a Bosch 044 unit and got the same sudden loss of power at 4-5k rpm. I remembered long time ago my dad told me if you are having powerloss at high rpm the coils may be going bad. So I removed the driver's side coil. What do you guys think? I don't have anything to measure the resistance but it looks toast from the pics.

Clean it up and re-evaluate the connections to see it they are physical damaged (corroded away).

Fine glass paper and WD 40 should do the job.

You have just identified for yourself another job to do on a yearly basis to keep all the ignition lead connectors in good condition whilst maintaining the correct resistance readings.

Don't forget that the coils are sepecially made by Bosch for the 928, especially the later models.

Water may have gotten in there. Dialectric grease around the rim of the boot may help prevent that from happening.
