WOW - what have I missed... I'm glad to hear you guys had a great time. Not that I expected anything else. Now I can only hope that Tim and Cheryl will do this again next year. Because I'd be sooo "in"...

Welcome back Nicole!

I hope everyone has checked their air filters after SATL. They have been somewhat "pollenated" to be sure!!

You are right about that..! I came out Saturday morning, and I didn't recognize my car - it had turned yellow.....

I drove back over Ebbetts Pass and I swear there was a swarm of bees that followed me all the way to Sonora. I finally was able to out run them once I got on the 108.

Tim and Cheryl,

What a FABULOUS TIME! The both of you have gone way beyond the call of duty in putting, "Sharks at the Lake", on. The hotel was great, the drives were great, the banquet, the BBQ, and of course all the terrific 928 owners! I've belonged to other car clubs, but nothing touches the immense pride and joy I get from the shark club. Nothing! I want to send out a very special, "thank you," to you both from all the Colorado contingency. Without you guys putting on SATL this 928 community would be missing a very big part of what we are all about. I only hope that you will continue to host this event in some fashion.
Any time you find yourselves coming out to Colorado, you absolutely have a, "cabin", to stay at, and a wine bar to partake in.

With friendship and gratitude,

Erik and Lori

Tim and Cheryl,
Tammy and I sure would have liked to join you again this year, but I would have had a hard time explaining to my son why I didn't go to his UCSB graduation last weekend! Even though I no longer have the GTS, we'll plan on coming next year with Tammy's '89. Maybe next year it will actually make it the whole fun ride!

You are forgiven, family always comes first. How do you like the new Z06?

Not to take this too far OT, but Tim and Cheryl, my and Amy's thoughts are with you. We hope that fire south of you doesn't make its way to you.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Currently the fire is burning on the south / west shore and is about 15 miles away as the crow flies. It is unlikely that it will travel that far towards us. The winds are pretty strong and the fire is only 5% contained. My prayers are with the 225 families that have already lost their homes. A real tragedy for sure. The fire is moving directly towards the city of South Lake Tahoe where we drove through on our Sunday drive.

That's a damn shame Tim, especially considering it looks to be manmade.

With a huge water resource so close by, I'm really surprised we don't see more 'copter support.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone up there.

I thought about the Deys, too, when I learned of the fire on the morning news.
I hope the firefighters have an easy time of getting put out quickly. Losses suck.

Tim,

I'd like to make a donation to a shelter or victim relief charity for the Tahoe fire, but am always wary of not dealing directly with a reputable organization first hand. Can you recommend one, or accept a donation on my behalf and makes sure it gets to the right place???

Thanks for any info...

Good idea to check. In 2003 during the Cedar Fire here in San Diego donations made to the Red Cross were put into a large central account and it was never clear if any of those locally donated funds ever found their way to the fire victims of San Diego. The local Red Cross president was fired over this situation I believe. There will probably be some local organizations that will be set up to benefit the Tahoe residents and I would donate to those. Scammers will abound though, so watch out.

My thoughts go out to all those affected there.
