How about bang for the buck? The fact is that the older 928's are one of the best performance bargains ever. I you can easily buy an ok 928 for $10,000 these days. A new C5 runs around $50,000, used are in the $40,000 region. Now take that $30,000 or so, that you have left over if you had bought the Vette, and put it back into that 928 you just bought. With that much change, you can let your imagination run wild. Just send your 928 to DEVEK and have them give you the works,lol.

Are you people still fighting this battle? 928's are so above the fray and corvettes are so disposable that there really should be no comparisons. I mean, you can make a chevette fast by dropping a 350 under it's twink hood. What's the point?

I think the "debate" is because people start saying that their 928 is *faster* than other new sports cars. Which may be true in some rare cases. But without preformance mods, a stock 928 is rarely going to hang with a new c5, m5, etc... Once they mod the 928, and put on headers, a stroker, supercharger, etc, or strip weight from the car, then yes, it becomes faster. My point is that if that C5 stripped it's weight too, and did a lingenfelter stroker, or supercharger, it would kick butt as well... But yes, for the $$$, our cars are very fast and fun and great handling. But people should not keep talking about how much faster their cars are than other sports cars. If your car is stock, and you beat a stock muscle car, it's just a bad driver. And once you have a modded car, it is not really a fair race, any more than it would be if a modded c5 raced a stock 928.
