After having been born and raised in Chicago, I am now in San Diego.

That first snow picture is both scary and captivating, as some of the best times I have had in a car (so far - no track time yet) were with this equation:

Green Bay suburban streets, unploughed after 10"
+
3am
+
Chevy Van with 10, uh, inbibbed college buddies
+

My crazy *** at the wheel

=
Pure Fun

Ah, college days

Brendan,

Yes those were the days! Only for me it was a four lane highway in Idaho. We were doing cookies all over the place.

...uh no officer ... every time we got on the gas the car would just slide around... yes sir...
will do that... thanks....

And so I was always lucky never lost my liscence or ended up in jail.

am,
my sharkless season is 10 months out of the year that I'm in Dutch Harbor, have to take a vacation to do maintenance and Drive. Of cource now with the house built I'll be doing honey do's around that instead of installing all the new goodies onto the 928.

Shane,

Brrrrrrrrrr…Great shot. I’m shivering in my sandals just looking at that picture. Kind of reminds me of the old days growing up in Valdez. Watching people come and go out of town while sipping local antifreeze at the main street corner bar…ye old “Sugarloaf Saloon” we called her where endless games of packman were played and bottomless beer mugs were poured. Mother nature dumping snow for hours on end, winds often blowing up towards 100 mph carving fresh snow into mounds of snowdrifts where more often then not, my then new 79 Camaro Z-28 would often find itself the next day, resting peacefully, street tires still intact, under mounds of snow while I, somewhat ahem…under the weather if you will would eventually get one of my buddies with a street loader to recover my beast only to start the next day all over again. I wasn't a very smart 20yr old in those days.

GOD, HOW I DON’T MISS THOSE SNOWY NIGHTS!

Randy,
Halibut season I would think is over, if not, try Jacks Bay just outside the Valdez Narrows for a tasty 100 lber! You wont be sorry. However, unless you ski up on Thompson Pass, why Valdez in November? Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Cool

GOOD Lord it is going to be in the 40's in Orlando...my house doesn't have heat~

[yeah, but I've got the air conditioner from hell on the side of the house!]

I HAVE a heat pump, so I guess it can run backwards and make heat. I guess-

Sleeping in a shark: Has anyone done this? I mean, the rear seatbacks fold down and it could work...and there is heat...

928 Camper?

N!

PS- Tim, I can remember the "Blizzard of '77" in Michigan when I was a little kid. We got upwards of 38 inches of snow in about 8 hours, and Michigan basically closed. The National Guard was taking snow-mobiles from people under emergency powers. They called my dad to work just as it was starting because they knew what was coming, but he got stuck on the I-75 and slept in the car until the National Guard, in a tracked vehicle, took him to the plant the next day. I remember sledding off the snow bank that formed off the roof of my parents house, and our street was eventually cleared by a bulldozer...

I made up my mind to move to Florida when I grew up the same day!
