WOT switch weirdness

The GTS has a 6 pin throttle switch, and a modified kickdown relay to go with it. The kickdown is then somewhat more responsive to movements of the throttle that don't trigger the WOT switch. Schocki wrote a thread here on RL.
I have some 6 pin throttle switches in stock.

Could oil in your switch be part of the trouble? When I pulled my intake I saw a fair bit of oil had gotten out through the throttle shaft bearing/seals. Duane mentions that as one of the benefits of replacing the bearings/seals when you're in there. I couldn't think of a way to clean out my TPS but did wonder how much oil was in there and what affect it was having ...

IIRR this new style switch used only in '94-95 automatics has exact same WOT thing as earlier setup. They just also have extra potentiometer which is used by new style relay to monitor how fast and far pedal was pressed. If its pressed slowly enough WOT is first setup to trigger kickdown same as in older design. Also when potentimeter kickdown is first done its possible to get second kickdown from WOT when pedal is pressed far enough. Thus gearbox changes for example from 4th to 3rd on potentiometer and from 3rd to 2nd on WOT. On both cases relay sends one and same kickdown signal to gearbox.

Other than not switching to the WOT maps for fuelling and ignition advance I assume failure of this switch has no further impact [I use the ST2 to get AFr and timing I want from the cruise map.
