Hey all,
Nevere really got answers on this:
Rod bearinsg have been replaced, as part of my down time on the 81.
Do I have to worry about a break in period?
Thanks,

No. There is (hopefully) no wear-in period on oil-film bearings.
"Break-in" on modern engines happens in the first few miles of driving. As soon as the rings are "seated", everything after that is "wear-out."

The reason I ask this question is whether I should put my really expensive amsoil in the engine upon startup, or if I should put the less expensive MOBIL1 in there until I change it again. This is no problem, but I was interested in some comments.
So the driving "nice" thing is a mandatory item John?
I have been without a Porsche for about two months. This is truly excruciating to say the least. I have also installed headers, removed the smog pump and cat, and will be adding a 4spd. trans instead of the 3spd.
