First Experience with LH Controller Failure

First Experience with LH Controller Failure
I finally had to replace my LH controller. Just wanted to pass along my experience.
Car died and would only crank and not start. I asked a lot of questions and thanks to those who helped me.
Those that said it was the LH controller were correct. This was based on the following symptoms. Car just died, would crank but not start. Injectors would click madly when the key was on. Jumpered 30 and 87 on the fuel pump relay and the car would start but not idle.
Then I followed the testing procedure outlined in the 928 Manual pictured. I did everything as it said and the result was replace the controller - which I did and I am back running again. This was an excellent source confirming what the 928 experts already knew

Jerry - My experience was exactly like yours including the same symptoms (injectors firing with key on). With the fuel pump relay jumped, I could start the engine and feather the throttle to keep it running at one speed only (about 1,000 rpm) and was able to limp home. I used the same excellent service manual to trouble-shoot. Everything checked out. Finally comfirmed bad brain by trying it in someone elses car.
