Rear center spoiler addition

Rear center spoiler addition
I didn't want to butcher my good spoiler so I scored a REALLY cheap beat up center peice to play with. Here is what I was thinking. Now I have to figure out how to attach it so it can be removed without any damage to the paint. I also need to figure out how to form the sections that were cut so it can be sanded and painted. I found a painter who uses flexible agents in his paint to do rubber trim and spoilers. I'm happy with the way it looks if I can figure out the details.

you need to trim the ends to flow into the side beter....like the audi TT spoilers
if its a junk spoiler use Dupla color rubberized paintable undercoating to smouth it out, should look original.
I realy like the look, i am concidering adapting the Audi TT whaletail spoiler (painted center with rubber outer lip) costs about $450 or so ,and is near perfect length but would lose the keyhole and possible the rear wipers also the angle of the base would need to be adjusted.

I think it need the sides, it does look incomplete. Have you considered a S4 spoiler? it requires 4 holes to be drilled into your hatch , and if you buy a fiberglass spoiler it will be easier to paint and look a lot better as far as flowing with the contours of the car, just my 2 cents, Stan

Ok, I have just been down this route, and the paint will crack, I used the very best flexible paints, with the most solids, and those are Wurth products, and they have a primer too, the wings will do well, but the center section won't it will crack, so then I got a top of the line dye kit, and that is supposed to restore the factory finish, works great on the bumperettes but not on that spoiler.
If you want the real deal , get ready , the price will make you choke, I just choked, but I am doing a complete restoration of mine and that was the only way to have it perfect. Call Jeff Clark at Sunset Porsche www.sunsetporsche.com , they have the best prices on the wings and the center section, got the last one in the states, but I have to wait a month for one of the wings to come from the Motherland... so there ya go , been through it all lately..

I already have a whole other spoiler and side peices, this was just a junky test peice. I haven't decided on anything yet, just playing around while my heads are being rebuilt. I'm running out of stuff to work on.

Chewey8000........OK then ,Hummmm, try this, when was the last time fuel lines have been replaced if they are original , you now have have something else to work on , also you might want to check the bottom of the blower box for leaks if you see any tracks then its a good time to open the box up and reseal the blower, these tasks will keep your hands busyand keep you occupied while making your car more reliable, Goodluck on your engine work, Stan
