I, for one, will be continuing my pursuit of a supercharger.
I continue to believe that there can be a relatively simple kit to add to the shark to get a bump in horsepower. My thought is that maybe most people are after to many extra ponies and this complicates the task and the potential outcome of the project.
My goal of approx. 100 extra horse should be able to be a reality.
So, onward I go.

Dr. Bob, those are great rules even as I did overstep the boundaries a dozen times. As for the golden rule Randy it can be abided by and I'll even add one more of my own to the grow up section you posted. Don't write anything on the net you couldn't or wouldn't say in person.

The first few times I brought (at the time) fellow 928 owners to local meets or gatherings I felt taken aback when they all for the most part declined to return to more meets or join. They all cited the very members I eventually alienated anyway and after 1 hour of face to face in a parking lot. Go figure.

Oh and Randy, if ever your moderating duties become too much a burden just let me know, I'll take em on. 928 or not. Right around May I'll have the time.

Randy,
I am still working on it. I guess it is due to a fault I have. I just can't quit short of my goals. I would like to see a "call out" post of all those who are currently working on SCing their cars. I know of Bernie, Dozman, and 2 others here that have contacted me off the board that are also working on it now. Two of these people are and possibly a third working on roots systems.

I love my car and it desreves to be faster than anything on the road!

I still think that this P-car is pretty much ideally suited for mild to moderate boost. As a true GT (emphasis on the TOURING) a little more poop would bring this venerable machine nicely into the modern world of GT SuperCar. It's sophisticated EFI and relatively low compression ratio, together with it's well-earned reputation for powerplant efficiency and longevity suggest that this final technological addendum could be the way to go.

I, personally, favor the idea that Huntley is presenting, with the shift to MAP and suck-through throttle-body, just because it seems to be the way most of the OEM huffer systems are designed. I'm certainly no engineer, but even though the blow-through centrifugal S/C is definitely the simpler modification, there has to be some reason the OEM designers went in this direction.

As for the difference between centrifugal and positive-displacement S/C, again, the OEM engineers seem to have favored the latter.

I really have come to love this weird little rocket-ship, and am proud to proclaim my conversion from the ranks of the "fan of the Only American Built Sports Car". The current plan is to bring her back to her former state and status. I'll follow this thread and eventually determine if S/C is really the way to bring her into the 21st Century, and if it's something a mere mortal such as I can accomplish........ with a little help from my Rennlist friends.

Look, lets face the facts.

1No one will ever debate that supercharging is a good way to product power.

1No one will ever debate that supercharging or turbocharging is a good way to produce power.

2This thread was started for closure and should remind many of all the greif that Mike S and others received over a publicized warning about a supercharge installer who was overstating capabilies. I think an apology is in order???

3Some folks should here should have been politicians....spin doctors

4Power costs money....supercharging, stroking, whatever. If you want it done right, want the car to start all the time, etc, pay the fee to have it done right. Two folks thought that they did just that....that is what this thread was about.

5 John, Randy or whomever, PLEASE start another thread or build 928 sc website for logging all the efforts, etc.

Thumbs down

Marc...

"..This thread was started for closure and should remind many of all the grief that Mike S and others received over a publicized warning about a supercharge installer who was overstating capabilities. I think an apology is in order???.."

I couldn't agree more.

ADMIN NOTE:

The balance of this post has been deleted.

srv, you are way out of line. Your final rant has prompted me to close this trainwreck of a thread.

Your motives and credibility are suspect.

Hey SRV.....
For someone stuck in Milwaukee, you are certainly fixated on what is going on here in California. Just when it seems like this thread is starting to wind down, someone like you throws more gas on the fire. I don't think there is much more that can be said that hasn't already been said. This thread has just gotten way out of line. Your last post has no constructive value, and only serves to re ignite the prior 6 and a half pages of anger and frustration. Give it a break, and move on to something else.
