keyless entry/remote start

ok collective minds...

87 S4 auto...NO FACTORY ALARM


Just got a keyless entry system with remote start capability today.

Just breezed thru the instructions and thought id throw a few questions out here.

looking for the following locations or any ideas to wiring as i look at the schematic for the system..

1) good location of the wire for "PARKING LIGHT OUTPUT"

2) need to locate a wire for "GROUND OUTPUT WHILE RUNNING"...???

3) good source for a "SPARK / TACH WIRE SENSE"

4) good source for a constant 12v for the unit itself.

5) Best place to get ACCESS to or the COLOR for the wires for the following connections.

a) "starter wire at ignition switch that has power present ONLY when in the STARTING POSITION".
b) "accessory circuit wire at the ignition swicth which has power present ONLY in the RUN POSITION"
c) "ignition circuit wire at the ignition switch that has power present ONLY in the RUN AND START POSITION"
d) " ignition switch or battery constant power 12vdc


i have the manuals on fiche but as usuall they are a PITA to deal with some times, especially with wiring.

Im just looking for the color wires i need and a good place to "tap" it all into. Hopefully some of you have some experience with this stuff

Tony, my Shark came with a keyless entry system via the PO. I took a look at it but I really cant help much but here is what I found.

I know it has a wire running directly to the ignition, all the lights flash and the extra horn beeps when locking and unlocking it. Also, the constant power on is connected at the battery. When I disconnect the battery and reconnect it arms itself again. It also has wires running to the fuse box.

Also, I had to have it adjusted to send an extra long signal to get it to lock the doors in one click of the button.
