Bring your 928 to the California Speedway!
I don't know how many of you guys know about this, but it may be more important to the west coasters.
There is a HUGE Porsche event being put on by the PCA of San Diego, happening at the California Speedway in Fontana California. Less than an hour from Los Angeles and San Diego. It is a 3 day event (May 17th, 18th & 19th) which includes all kinds of activities from racing to a swap meet. Go to: http://www.pcasdr.org/clubrace/Info.pdf for the info.
I had planned on entering the "Peoples Choice Concours'" on Sunday, but have a better idea. I had contacted the folks putting this thing on and they have allowed us(SOCAL 928) to have a 928 corral on the infield of the raceway in the midst of this big event. They actually were excited about it and encouraged me to have a boat load of 928's on display.
I want to invite all 928'ers interested to come out and have priority parking in the "SOCAL 928" Corral, member or not. I want to promote the SOCAL group, but more importantly blow the minds of 1000's of people with a herd of 928's smack dab in the middle of their "tea party".
I will have a sign made up advertising the group, but as I stated, I don't care where you are from in the US, you are welcome to be there with me. I say me, because I have just come up with this idea yesterday and found out this morning it is a go, so I am now letting everyone know. I would like to do this on Saturday and Sunday (18th and 19th).
If you are interested, please contact me immediately ( keith@foxtec.com ) so that I can plan for this and let them know how big an area we will need. I believe it will only be $10.00 to drive into the corral, park, lock and enjoy the activities while meeting other 928'ers.
Can I get an Amen???

I don't think you're gonna be in the middle of the tea party, you guys are gonna be the tea party. California Speedway's infield is a huge place by the way, it should be an awesome event with some nice cars.

It looks like approximately around 20 cars between Saturday and Sunday.
I expect that there will be several folks who just show up and drive in.
I will be posting info and details before next weekend for all.
This is gonna be more than a tea party!
Amir, are you a SOCAL 928 member???

No, I have an '83 911SC (you might remember me from the Jacquemond body-kit posts ), but I live in Woodland Hills (L.A. valley) and will be attending the event, I"ll be sure to come and shoot the breeze with you guys. I'm actually looking into getting a 928 as my daily driver after I graduate High School in a month or so.
