There are no real window relays on the pre-90 cars - the "window relay" is really only the power supply to the widows & sunroof - all the motor power goes via the switches in direct drive mode. that why they wear out so often - quite a bit of current to switch.

I started the VW Relay thread (a long long time ago) and it was about Intermittent Wipers....

For wiring see the prevoius thread ... full story of how to make the paragon module work on a 928 is there...

There is also a window development from Rod Kubis in the works - but its been stalled for a while. Rod will eventually get if figured out and that will

provde a good option for <90 cars also...

No, you didn't, I think I started a thread like that. I think I was thinking window switches, but instead it was probably wiper delays. Anyway, I reserve the right to plagiarize anyone and everyone!

Maybe he didn't forget them.

Interesting...

If you read Bill Ball's post, there is a statement that the driver's side window will close automatically if you hold down the switch for more than 0.5 seconds.

My driver's side window will not do this. Both windows have the automatic "down" feature, but neither have the automatic "up" feature, no matter how long I press the switch.

I do have the feature of both windows and the sunroof closing when you hold the door key in the "lock" position.

Does anyone have the automatic "close" feature on the driver's side window?

Normy - Whaaat?

Bigs - Yes I have it and so does Andrew and others. ROW/Euro's do this by default - The window controller is the same but has to be configured this way with a plug connection (easy) - your car can do it but default USA is to have this disabled for liablilty reasons.

When configured as a ROW car the driver window only does express-up just like express-down. It also changes the power function so the windows are always active whenever a door is open regardless of ignition switch - this is a great feature - handy if you forget a window or when cleaning the car...

Normy - this is the intermittent wiper post I was referring to - from 2002

Yes I know you have posted on this window topic since - and I believe I said then it wouldn't work (....and it still wont )

Exactly!

That's why I said it looks so simple even a doctor could do it.

Reality may a whole nuther ballgame! You realize, of course, that I will only post results if the outcome is successful! No news is bad news!

I don't know Bigs. You might want a nurse handy to wipe your forhead when this procedure gets tough.

Hey, I've already got them cool surgical gloves Andrew was wearing! I figure I'm good to go! (Although mine aren't "Gas-Station-Condom" blue in color!)

There's a little bracket with one nut IIRC. I didn't have to remove the seat.
