Angry Windshield leaking?

I have noticed for some time now that I have a leak somewhere around the top of the windshield. In order for it to leak it has to rain really hard while driving or when washing the car. I initially suspected it to be the sunroof, but I am pretty sure it's the windshield. I adjusted my sunroof and made sure the drains are clear.
Looking at the windshield it has a pretty large gap between the top molding and the glass and even larger on the sides. Has anyone tackled this problem? Am I missing sone rubber seals there? I looked (envious..) at a late model GTS the other day and the windshield molding seemed different.
Is there a better solution on the later models? Can I caulk the gap? Or does my windshield need replacement?
regards,
Sab.

Sab:

I've got the exact same symptom. No solution yet, but I was considering contacting a windshield shop to have the remove and re-install my windshield to get a proper seal again.

Let me know what you find out.

Sab,
That should be relative easy to solve. Buy some black silicone mastic, remove the top list – to be done carefully by using a home made flat hard wood , fill the mastic at the top of the window , flat it out with a wetted wood or finger (also soap water)and place the list again.
The noise can be the window opening, but most properly that's the list – this can also be removed by 'glueing' the list with the same Silicone mastic (I did that)
To be cleaned soon afterwards, spray soap water at the surrounding, and remove the (to mush) mastic
You can also, at Big Dave propose, contact a car window expert, that’s ‘children food’ for them, and will not cost much.
I had for long time leaking at the rear side windows, I asked a car window expert to seal them, and here I saw how to do.

Hi Sab and Dave,

Sounds like Erik is on the right track. Mine leaked on one side when I got it. The black sealant that never hardens (probably Erik's silicone mastic?) needed to be filled better. I pushed the sealant into place better with a thick plastic sort of putty knife from the inside. No more leak.

Wink

Hi folks,
I forgot one thing, on the rear side windows the leak can be between the rubber list and the body, but can also be between the glass and the rubber list.
