Nope...never had a problem.......your not waxing in the sun are you?? That would cause lots of problems!!

I always polish-wax in the garage & only on "cool" (say sub 90) days.....then I let it "cure" for a day before I drive it

Personally I am not a big fan of carnuba waxes......Trade Secret came highly recommended so I bought a jar ($41) tried it......loved the smell...fairly easy to use......but isn't any better than rejex....or optimum waxes..... I use Optimum Spray Wax on my Acura...it works great and is so easy to use...... Now I have a coat of Optimums new wax called "Opti-seal" on my 928.....so far so good...but I do really like rejex! Its on my wheels right now!
Iceman,

I just received a bottle of Opti-Seal. I've not yet put it on. I hope it proves out. I've used about a dozen different types so far and none really "hold up" as long as I'd like. I just don't have time to keep 5 cars and a truck waxed.

I have a buddy that works at Meguiars that has nearly every wax imaginable in his office. I used to raid the stash and try various waxes/polishes to find out if they were truly as good as people said they were. I also tried the ridiculously expensive waxes to see if there was any real difference for the $$. The Zymol wax is nothing special although they will refill the container for a lifetime so you never have to buy the wax again. I think one of the only expensive waxes I've tried and really liked (on dark cars) is the Pinnacle Sovereign. Smells great, goes on easy, comes off easy and looks awesome IMO.

I think the 15.00 Zymol does a nice job.

Rejex. Clean the car. Put on a coat of Rejex. Leave the car in the sun. Park under a bird's roost (tree) and not give a **** about the birds. And several months later, maybe think about doing another coat of Rejex.....maybe.....if there's nothing better to do.

I pamper my car even more than that -- I use Rejex.

Ron, leaving the car in the sun before the Rejex has cured is a

You have to let the wax cure for a day before letting it outside? Crap. Most of the time I don't even have enough patience to wash the car myself. Oh well, the paint is already pretty messed up.

Bill, it's not wax. It's a polymer. I believe the magic number is 84°F -- if it gets hotter than that it won't cure properly.

I didn't mean that I left the car in the sun just after I Rejexed it. I meant after the Rejex had cured, I left it in the sun, and the rain, and the snow, and the bird dung, and all other nasty stuff. The reason I do that is evident by the condition of the roof which was "burned" by the PO with a buffer and the clear coat it going big time. In fact, if I wash it more than once a month now I consider going to a shrink. Every time I think it needs a bath, I simply deposit a couple hundred dollares in my savings account to cover the eventual paint it needs, and go do something productive like earning a living. What......I want to wear out my elbow polishing and washing this piece of metal and crappy paint? I can think of better things to do than waste time doing that. I also leave messy papers and junk inside it so no one will want to go near it to steal it. Works for me. Not to mention the locks are so screwed up now that even I can't seem to get into the thing anyway. It is so much trouble I think I'll just take the bus.

$650 for wax!?

----- RANT ON ------
F*@k them, conspicuous consumption is for losers.

Not to mention that it's for a car, and ...

Cars are made to be driven.
On roads.
Roads either _are_ dirt or have dirt on them.
And ... roads are outside.
Outside there's weather, and birds, and hail, and sap, and so forth.
Cars _will_ get dirty, hot, cold, wet and dinged.

Drive it, don't pose in it!

Will
Gold chains? I don't need no stinkin' gold chains! I try not to be the ***** on the inside or care that lots of people will think I am, anyway - because of people who buy $650 wax.

Eat the rich, the poor are tough and stringy.
----- RANT OFF -----

I didn't see mention of lifetime refills, but that certainly makes more sense for that price.

Would not polymer just "make the car shine" and put a very thin anti-stick layer on the paint but would it really protect the paint as much as a (relatively speaking) thick coat of canuauba? I've tried both and don't really prefer one over the other. I do like the idea, however, of applying multiple coats of whatever although I'm not sure what it gains.

If you think a few hundred dollars per jar of wax is over the top then you'd better be sitting down when you click on this link.
