I think high school science said white was the absence of color and black was the presence of all colors. Of course, I'm sure I'm no better at science now than I was then.

I need my intake and my cam covers redone, but I'll need to have the parts (and pay a core charge) before I change them because my 86s is a daily driver. I am thinking about dark gray (like a Dell computer). I'd like to know your ideas on some kind of contrasting color for the lettering, even if it is not powder coated.

I have a euro intake, oil filler, and thermostat cover that I plan on cleaning up and powder coating. I'm not sure it it would make sense to ship it to florida vs. have someone local do it. I guess your service would make sense for me if:
1) your prices were better than what I could get locally.
2) your prices plus shipping were the same as doing it locally, but you would do all the prep and cleanup work.
3) your prices plus shipping were the same the same as, or a little better that doing it locally, but you had a online catalog of different things you could do so I could see how my parts would look with your processes. One thing about using a local service is that is you send them your parts and you tell them what you want and then you just wait in the dark hoping that they had a clue what you were talking about and do quality work.
4) for some people it would make a lot of sense if you had a spare set of most things and could just swap, saving them down time. This would not be a big deal to me as I have spares of everything right now.

i charge $30,-hour plus $20,- for cleaning parts
to 2
i don't know the local prices... but i do know i cealn all parts even if they seem clean
to 3
that sounds like an interesting idea.
i know excactly what one would want since i got a 928 and can connect
to 4
that is what i try to build up upon... the magnesium parts are in very bad shape.
they are stuck with grease and paint and what not...
so the best is to have them soak in stripper and degreaser way before a customer want a paint job done
very comprehensive

here is my first 85 intake plenum
i am not 100 % happy with it but i know how to fix it to get it perfect
you can see, there are a few spots where it gased some.
no biggie to fix, but really annoying .

LOOKS DARN GOOD . . .
. . . FROM TEX-A$$!
Won't those blisters just 'buff out'? You know, a bit of cosmetic surgery!
Congrats, Ohhh Ceee, on your 'maiden plenum!'

So CD...you're doing powder coating? Is this a regular thing or just something you are doing right now? If it's a regular thing then I'll keep you in mind since I have had some notions of having a few other things around the engine bay powder coated. I had my intake done last year, and it turned out pretty average.

so that i won't be voted of the island, for advertising without permit.
this right now is just to see what interest is there.
it's very nice of randy to let me do that .
again the porsche parts are a bihatch to work on... not the OB intakes. since they were bare metal. but to get the coating off is horrendous.
after i got the coat off i didn't pre-bake it long enough i thought that 30 min on high heat is enough , but i guess not.
it's an easy fix . but then it'll be perfect.
