I stand amazed!!!! Wow!!! All 4 of you rare 200-milers should be proud...and pleased that your tires held up!

Some how, i am convinced that our driving to the races on new tires help condition the tires...we never had any type of tire problem in over 20 events, with half of them at very high speed!

Tim is also conditioning his tires by driving the course multiple times over the course of the weekend.

But you just never know.....adds to the thrill of it all....

An additional 10 to 15 mph at those speeds is a HUGE jump, and I think will be tough to overcome.

In the meantime, it's a nice target to shoot for; again, great job to both of you!

Not really, they did 200 mph with a 15-20 mph headwind. Our car with similar setup did 210 one weekend and the next weekend did 202 with similar headwind.

Harvey, 200 mph does put a strain on tires. Not only do you need good tires,
you need to treat them right. As Marc mentioned tire conditioning is important
as well has having the right alignment. ORR requires a different alignment then
the track. Lot of ORR newbies come out with track alignments and tear up
their tires.

CONGRATS.......nice....a solid 13mph faster than 2nd place (in terms of speed)...& 18mph than 2nd.....damm thats sweet...using the site I posted before.....you should be able to hit 223.94480519480518!!! At least in theory at 6200rpm...but I bet your motor will keep making power higher than that!!

With the current engine config I'll never get there at this altitude. Maybe next year. Got to get more experience this year in riding this land missle at elevated speeds.

It's going to be a huge class at Bonneville in the SS division. We will have to put our timekeepers hat on big time.
2 Porsche 928's
1 Ruf 911
1 Dodge Daytona
2 Nascar bodies
2 Corvettes
2 Mustangs
1 Camero
Hope I did not miss any body.

That's why I'm glad I got Rich in the Navigator seat. We were off by .6 seconds
(.035 mph) the last time we ran the Bonneville 100 together. I guess we'll need
to do better this time, .25 seconds will be hard to beat.

Rich will be navigating at the Bonneville 100 and Gambler's Run. I'm
still looking for a navigator for the Pony Express.

George, I may be tempted to navigate at the Pony Express. That means I have to give up driving my own car this season....but then again, how many chances does one get to go 200mph? Decisions, decisions.....
