I have a radar detector and a rear view mirror add-on (video) that I need to hardwire down to the stereo console. There is absolutely no play around the top of the windshield trim or the trim on the side sections of the windshield to push the wires behind. How does one remove these trim pieces inorder for me to be able to do this routing?
Thx,

Remove the visors and the center clip for the visors. Remove the two screws in the headliner, near the tops of the A-pillars. This should get the front edge of the headliner loose enough to tuck your wires up in there. The rest of the headliner is held in with plastic clips(maybe a couple more screws, not sure) so be careful you don't pull the clips away from the fiberboard backing. Just flex it downward a little. My V1 used a flat phone cable for the power/data wire, and I found it very easy to slip between the a-pillar and a-pillar cover without further disassembly... YMMV.

You can go through the channel for the dome light too. it will take you to the right side of the car. This is a better solution because you will be inside a natural wiring channel with some protection for fraying.

Dan, I tried that -- when the wire wouldn't go through easily I started loosening things. The phone-cable connector I was working with was a bit bulky for fishing through uncharted territories.
