Porsche is building a V-10 at the Wissach facility
My friend who designs the titanium valves for Porsche racing (he's done ones for a 928 too) was recently at the wissach facility in Germany and told me that they were working on a V-10 for racing. I didn't ask too many questions as I can't have one anyways, so who cares. I'm pretty sure he said it was a V and not inline. Again, who cares, I can't have one...

Maybe not now....but in 10 years???
Hey....some of us here couldn't afford the 928 when new - albeit the initial purchase price would be in the same leaque (Carrera GT and the 928) - but who knows???

hmmm... a v-10 huh? cool. Maybe we're gonna see Porsche in F1 !! I'd love to see them come out and spank the Ferrari and Beemer powerplants. Question is, would they do their own chassis or stuff it in something like a McLaren.

That engine is for the Carrera GT coming in 2003.
V10, 5.5L, 558HP, 600NM.
Supposedly the car will be about $400.000.00
I guess I won't be buying one...
cheers,
Sab.

My understanding is that the Carrera GT's V10 is actually a racing engine that has been retuned for street use. Essentially, the only similar part is the block- and the car was designed around it. Talk about parts engineering!
