That red one has the best treatment for the door pillar I've seen, the fake two window strut. The door always looks like it's been chopped off, but that makes it a bit better.
The rest of the bodywork is ***, though.

Tass, I like the cab! Something for me to asipre to. Most people don't realize the importance of a light colored interior in a convertable, until they burn themselves on hot seats. It looks like you have early door panels and late seats all in a matching, unusual color. Not to mention dash and pod. Did you refinish (i.e. SEM), recolor, or are they factory?

The car is an 80' so the door panel speaker style is original. The seats came with the car and are not correct 928 units but I think they look OK. I recovered them in vinyl so they could handle getting rained on. They are actually a subtle two-tone. I gutted the entire enterior last year when the car was painted. The new interior (except the seats) is a mix of everything I had on the shelf, redyed to match. I used SEM and it is holding up well so far.

uh oh - sterling is on the top of another slippery slope
here, let me help - if the roof is tweaked, might be a good time to just chop it off and go for it

It was a few years ago but in 1989 I spent time in Munich and was involved in "taking the top off" of several 928's. Perhaps a heretic of blasphemous acts, but many turned out nicely. In one we widened a 89GT to something like the magazine feature...heck might be the same car. We used a Audio 100 trunk lid and used zinc welding to clean the lines of the door frame. I'll see if I can get any photos.

Tass;
Seats were from my 86 951. They look great now. I hope Flo is enjoying it. I sure did.
Damstrom;
Would love to see some photos, even ad them to my 928 Cab site I'm building.

Ok, so people started chopping the tops off their Sharks... and so too did Testarossa owners.
The question is, who started the trend first? Any idea when the first documented chop took place?
