How many 928 convertibles have you seen? They must have been kinda popular in europe?

The purple one is a 968 isn't it?

Ah Harv;

The purple one is a 968...

I have 26 928 Cabs recorded in my database.

You guys are too sharp! Since I also have a 968, I capture those fotos too. They're pretty common. I'll try to erase it.

The 968 looks nice. The champagne colored car would not make the cut for me.
Still, fun to see the lidless sharks. Thanks.

Yea, nice one. I have lots of pics of 928 convertibles and I am sure many of them belong to some guy in Saxton, PA....

Not sure if my pics add up to 26 differnt 928 rag tops, but I know i have a lot of them. I think only two of them are yours Scott.

BTW, that silver one is Carls old car and it's wrecked already. He sold it to some kid and his girlfriend stacked it. I know this because the kid got hold of me looking to get another one. He sent me pics and I laughed cause I knew whose car is used to be.

What I like about the green one is the treatment of the door shape. Usually the door shape is stock, which puts the lower part of the window frame lower than the rear deck height. This means you have it pop up at the back of the door like on the silver car. I hate that about mine. I have been thinking about reshaping the top of the door like the green car, but I don't know how I would do the window squeegee. Do you have any more detailed pics of how they did it here?

I don't have more details. I got them from a Spanish (Spain) web forum of Porsche owners. I'll see what I can find out.

I don't see no purple 928. I see a 928 in a magenta type color in the background behind the Swiss 928 converitble. Is that what you guys are talking about?

karl ruiter 05-14-2007 02:18 AM

Nicole, have you seen the red one in person? I notice that is has the imporved door shape, but it looks like no squeegees. That would be pretty easy to do, but I am worried that it will look unfinished.

Nicole 05-14-2007 02:21 AM

Yes, I've seen it, but that was many years ago at DEVEK days. I have no additional pictures, and no idea where this car is now.

I wonder, if Susan at DEVEK would know... I would assume this was a customer of theirs.

Ditto - more pics of the magenta 928 please

I think they look better with the flatter trunk; the "humps" (Post #10, first 2 cars) look like the converting owner would rather have a 911 cab...

Nicole 05-14-2007 02:35 AM

I just looked it up, and believe the correct name for this color is rubystone red.
