Question Suggestions for a DE in a 928 S4

Hi Folks,

I'm going to run my 928 S4 in a PCA DE at Pike's Peak International Raceway this weekend. This is a big, open, high-speed track, and should be a blast in a shark. I was wondering if any of you have suggestions for tire pressures, etc. for a DE. I've had my Boxster and 993 on the track numerous times this year, but haven't taken the 928 out yet. It's time has come!

My car has the Koni/Eibach coilovers and front adjustable droplinks from 928 Specialists, along with Kumho ECSTA 712s (225/45-17 front & 255/40-17 rear). It's a bit stiffer and less wallowy than before, so I suspect it will be decent on the track. It doesn't have track tires, so I won't be able to push it quite as hard, but these Kumhos seem to be pretty grippy.

The only engine mods are a RMB, which ought to sound great on the track. I have a receipt from a PO showing that a "chip" was installed, but there is no indication of what chip it might be, and I don't even know where to look... In any case, the car is strong and has incredible pull at nearly any speed, but then again you already know that if you drive one of these cars.

Thanks!

Skip,
We have very similar setup. I just had my S4 with the same tire sizes (Dunlop 9000) in a DE at Virginia International Raceway (3.27 mile, wide open track) and found 44psi front and 42 psi rear to work pretty well for me. I would expect you would be with in +/- 4 psi depending on driving style, different tire manufacturer, etc. Be sure to chalk the sidewalls and measure your rollover after each run/pressure adjustment.

Have a BLAST!! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />
