Does anyone know this '84? Black on black - was at auction in PA last weekend.

A buddy of mine was at an auction last weekend in PA and this was the first car he saw. No one bid on it at $5000.
He was there to buy a minivan.
He spent $7000 on the van, knowing that if he came home with the 928, he'd be sleeping in it. Now he'd like to find it and talk to the owner.
It's not in the registry and googling the VIN comes up with nothing.
Does anyone know this car?
