I hate these politics. I'm glad for every 928 vendor who exists, and try not to compete with any (even though I'm a human being and 928 owner who might sometimes disagree with something one says or does). I've referred people to any of them. I want them all to do well. But I don't like politics. And I don't like to receive hate mail.

No one pissed in my Wheaties.....I happen to be a really easy going guy. However, I also happen to live and pay taxes in California. I run my business straight up and down....no games. What Marc does with his business shenanigans directly effects me....I have to pay for his games and that does **** me off.

That's certainly understandable. Running a business is tough enough, especially if you are trying to play the game by the rules/laws; & if you have competition utilizing any unfair advantage, that can be a burr in your shorts at the least! I'd wonder who's really the one with the "gutter mentality" though.

I think there are more than enough 928ers & Porsche owners who can substantiate Greg Brown's long standing credibility as a mechanic, business owner & as a person in general. This is not dealing in hamburgers where there is a vendor on every street corner in every town in the nation. With 928s, credible suppliers of parts or mechanic work is a very small suppier/vendor situation. We as 928 owners need them all & we need them all to be credible, dependable & there for a long time to come.
A stated reaction in such a forum by one vendor to any perceived unfair advantage of another vendor, for any reason, is not being "huffy" in my opinion. Perhaps it could have been done outside of a forum, but maybe they have no contact & maybe direct contact would have been too difficult. And if their reaction is to something that they believe is outside of the rules/laws that they are trying to adhere to in running their business, then thats not to be taken lightly. I remind myself all the time, no matter how long you've been doing what you do or have owned your business, there has been many long standing, large companies that have gone by the wayside. So nothing is ever guaranteed in business and you have to protect it as best you can.
If asking a question in a public forum is due to "someone pissin in your Wheaties", then I'd say yeah, I'd not be too happy about that situation either! As was said, he could have just mentioned his concerns to the state and let them sort it out. Who wants to deal with that even if they are 100% on the up and up with how they conduct their business? I hope that they are all around for a very long time, at least as long as I own a 928 anyways!

One of the parties may be a site sponsor, and they do advertise on here as is their right to do so, they pay for that right. I do not believe I have ever seen Greg Brown advertise his business here has he? He is a paying member, he has a right as any member or user to interact on the forum. Just because he has a reputable porsche repair shop as his living/business does that mean he has to be a site sponsor to raise a point or question?
That criteria sure hasn't stopped other members or even guests from questioning vendors or site sponsor's business practices has it? Especially the one being questioned. I've seen countless threads doing just that. That was ok for those to question, why? Because they were unhappy at a delayed shipping or not receiving their order. But that was not questioning the company's business practices??
No one ever questions what a member or user does for a living when they raise questions in the past about a vendor do they? So he'd have to be a Site Sponsor to raised his question about their business practices just because he is a reputable porsche mechanic, even though he's a paying rennlist member and does not advertise his business here like he's a sponsor? All I have ever heard of his shop is that he has all of the business that he needs, I'd guess thats why he isn't a site sponsor.
Now if he did plug his business here, then yes, he should pay to be a site sponsor. Would it look better if he was a site sponsor, sure, but I don't think he's outside of his rights just to ask the question, regardless of what his business is cause he doesn't plug his business here. Because his business IS potentially effected by the questions he's asking, I think that's all the more his right to ask the questions. Again, perhaps its a bit blunt here in the forum, but maybe that was the best way in his opinion instead of just simply calling the state. Does it appear perhaps to be meddling in others business, maybe, but if he's right, then that becomes his business cause its not cheap to play by the rules in ANY business.

You never took my calls. You never returned any of my 5 calls over 2 weeks, and next I know the car was being parted out by 928 International. Additionally, you pissed all over poor Constantine when he was offering his EXCELLENT clamp he worked his *** off to make and offer at cost.
So, if you're going to **** on Marc's business, I'd think twice. BLOODY UNSPORTING OF YOU.

yeah i saw that too.
Gregg, If he is operating with-in the law, you are just causing problems that will haunt you later. I feel your pain, I have simular competition here in my business. the thing is, this is everywhere, in every industry. If he is with in the law I say you should sit your *** down and shut up... however if he is not, I also say nail his *** to the wall all is fair. If you are just going to try to cost him money becasue you can... I hope he has the resources to fire back with a slander suit.
But I also feel bringing this issue to this board is very unprofessional of you. maybe you are that pissed, i dunno. but i would certainly think twice of buying your prodcut with the way you have conducted your self and the ego you seem to have, being the best at what you do and all....
Im sorry this post turned the way it has. This is the second time i have attempted to give a vendor a good word on the list and you pirahana's rip it apart. Just like you do when ever some one has a car to sell. if they are not in your click you beat the thing until it and its owner are dead. That "whitefox" kid, his car wasnt prestine and it did need some things, but he was daily driving it and the interior wasnt all that bad. You all did nothing but try to steal it from the kid. A lot of times people on this list act like a bunch of 6 yr olds.
