Default Touch up paint....alternatives?

I have a polar silver S4 that has some hairline cracks in the paint in a spot the size of a nickle (from straightening out a small dent). I just want to fill the small cracks in so they don't show so bad. Is Porsche touch-up the only way to go? Is there an alternative touch up paint I might get locally for something this small? Suggestions for this kind of thing?

I've used Paintsctrach.com in the past with very satisfying results.

If you need something now... you might try a hobby shop. They should have Testors model paint in guards red both in a spray as well as bottle. It sounds strange to use model paint for this, but I've been running it on my rear tail lamps for over a year (others are going on 3 years) and no signs of delaminations. The color match is very good too!

www.paintscratch.com per Andrew's suggestion last summer. The paint was a perfect match and shipping was fast.

You can go to your local automotive paint supply store. They can ether use your paint code or they can use a digital "camera" that analyzes the paintcolor and tells them how to mix it. You can have a single stage paint made to use as a touch up paint. I recently had 4oz mixed and it only cost $9.

I've had success with paintscratch, too. Had an aerosol can mixed for my wife's Jag, and I've used the small pen/brush. Match was pretty good.

Use a place called Chips Away. We have one here in Findlay and they did my car and it turned our perfect. They Air Brush on the paint but just in the chip. I did a post on it a while back. Chips Away is a Franchise.

Yes, I read that post. I went out and bought an airbrush and tried a few rock chips. I just finished with them. I'll look at them again in the morning but it appears that I will need to buff the spots to blend them in.
