Default WTFIT - Hi pitched squeal from center console

No, my wife is not sitting on the stick. She is OOT. AC on, AC off. Same ****. Start engine and high pitch squeal for 20-30 seconds from the center console. If AC is off, squeal is worse. Squeals every time I throttle up after shifting.

Geez, this sounds like it should be sexual innuendo on Off Topic. No, it's for real; my squeal.

Is there some kinky alarm not mentioned in any search or owner's manual. Maybe I should just tape it and take it to bed when wifey and I tame the snake.

I'm sure I'll get a lot of off color suggestions on this one. Help seriously wanted.

This from someone in ZEBULON! ****e! That's worse than Skidmore. Folks from Skidmore are called Skidmarks. WTF is a Zebulon called other than wishful thinking.
My squeal awaits...

It was a long time ago that I worked on my AC, but I believe there it is a vacuum operated servo for the footwell located behind the console. Mine made a whistling noise before I replaced it. There may also be other servos, cant really remember.

My guess: diaphragm (how appropriate!) is cracked in your comb flap actuator, leaking vacuum. When this actuator fails, it causes all sorts of interesting sound effects. All extremely annoying.

Most likely cause is a leaking vacuum actuator in the HVAC system.

There are numerous posts available on testing the actuators. Basically, you pull the left console side cover, cut the little colored vacuum lines and test them. Cap off the leakers until you get enough round tuits to fix them...

I would start with the orange line.

Thanks, Jerry. Thanks, Ed. Are both of these accessed by removing the console?

Try disconnecting vacuum source underhood first and see if noise goes away.

Thanks. That sounds a lot better to start with. BTW, I really like your racing stripes.

could be the little fan for the cabin temp sensor; this sits behind a plastic thing about the size of a silver dollar that sits a bit to the right of the middle of the console; it has 2 air slots cut into it

Hey Marton!
I'll never look at your avatar without remembering our kinship for kicking on the interior light. I'm a 9 1/2; what's your excuse?
