Hey, it would be a good weekend car for shorter trips. It runs fine for a couple of hours......drive it to lunch somewhere, let cool, then drive home. No problem. Just don't expect to drive it to SITM in one day.

It looks nice. I thought it odd. It said reserve is set high? On a car that is not drivable once warmed up . ????? I thought this might be a "buy" based on its problem , but maybe not.
oh, and what is TBF ? Surely not Timing Belt Failure as this would be a one time thing. Game Over . Do not pass go, Do Not collect $200

A timing belt failure is not a game ender, albeit expesive! Thrust Bearing Failure on the other hand is generally a permanent show stopper (the engine will need to be replaced).

I disagree. A timing belt failure is just as much of a game ender as a TBF. At ~$50 for an exhaust valve and ~$30 for intake can add up really quickly. Add that to the cost of the gasket kit, the refurbishing of the heads, few more small parts and the cost will be the same as a replacement short block. During a TBF the heads are usually reusable and a short block is ~$1000. Repairing or replacing the heads after a t-belt failure is about the same too.

You know, I guess I never thought that whole argument all the way through, but you might be right. Either way, they are both BAD!

I went and drove this car it has Thrust beaing failure in the later stages the oil when i checked it was a bright silver and the heads were making a grinding sound as all of the metal was making new friends in all of the lifter bores , the paint is shot crows feet every where, the interior is dried out Burgundy, the car was sold to another gentlman for 10350, he drove it a few miles before the motor seized then towed it back to the seller and then was refunded his cash, all in all ready for restoration or parts car , T/Tube was also making noise and the trans is leaking, brakes are rusted and the front end looks like it has had the fenders replaced at some time, all of the door rubbers are dried out as well and it needs shocks

The bid is up 4500. That is silly money. I'd wager that the transaction is never completed.
