Sa-weet!

And I'm with H, an early Euro with the bidding at $500, someone could end up with a fun project.

I think it said the car was imported from Germany. I bet it was stolen and taken to Albania, where Albania's finest craftsman worked on it feverishly for several years, and sold it to a high-ranking member of the East German Communist party. After reunification, someone probably bought it from an "Ossie" for a pair of Levis and some vinyl cowboy boots.

You guys are mean CeeDee didn't do the interior "restoration". He bought this car because it has an M28/11 and a 5 speed. He decided that he should sell it and use the money to repair his black 928. I wish him luck. I thought about buying it for parts but I have too many cars at my house already.

Whoever owned it prior to Michael sure did like white. Did you notice that they even painted the widshield wipers.

hahahahaha i didn't have such a great laugh in a while...
hehe
anyway, paul. you got a great humor, too.
i would almost get offended if my name was mentioned in conjunction to a interior looking like that.
i think the interior looks ...hmmmm different. in a very repulsive way.
but then again, i bought the car originally for it's parts.

I think the joke was made with no intention of poking fun at me or Rob or either of our work. At least that is how I took it.

You guys can't honestly think these are that bad, can you? At least they look cool. They are expensive, but I'd feel better about paying $200 for those over $200 for an analog clock.

The ad is a hoot, but I always kind of feel sorry for these cars. Geez, 500 bucks for a 928? Right from the Island of Misfit Toys.

I hope someone picks the old boy up.

Interior (what little original is left of it) looks like basic 4.5L model, not 4.7L S. Seats for example were only used in '80-82 4.5L ROW. Also there isn't anything between rear seats on top of transmission. One more sign of non-S '80-82 ROW. If its real S and not just engine change its first so spartan S.

well i do have the car here. and i know this:
the engine does have the M28/11 designation on it. which is
Model 1980 EURO
Type: 928S
Engine: 4664cc 310hp 16valve
Engine Code: M28/11 (5 speed manual) / M28/12 (3 speed auto)
Injection: K-Jetronic (CIS -Continuous Injection System)
Brakes: Single Piston 282mm front/289mm rear

whatever some sapp did to the interior is irrelevant. what counts is the engine on this car.
at least i know of nobody, who bought a euro as a result from the fact, that the interior is from a 'S'.

You're right. That does look like a RESTORTATION just waiting for a restoration.

Late '80 MY 4.5L ROW have S brakes so that can't be used as indication. VIN will tell if it left from factory with 4.5L or 4.7L engine.

Code:
92A0800061...1192 928 ROW
92A0809561...95xx 928 JPN
92A0810061...1649 928 USA+CAN
92A0820061...1466 928 S ROW
92A0829561...95xx 928 S JPN
Either way it doesn't make much difference now what it was originally. Engine is expensive part in it.
