Default howling noize, maybee fuelpump

I've got a howling sound when I really push the car toward the maximum. I can't hear it under power, but when I take a exit from the highway It howls. Then I give the accelerator 2 small dap's, and it stops. I don't know if it's lack off fuel, or... Still got my 78 pump, but engine is 83. Does that make any sence ? Could the pump be under dimentioned for a 83 4,7 euro ?

Have you looked at the fuel pump mounting brackets? Maybe they have gone bad and don't dampen the vibrations effectively. Just a though. My 78 makes a lot of noise as well, even after changing the pump and filter. Mounts are ok too. Good luck.
