If you were going to use a second engine i doubt it would have the air intakes and filter plumbed exactly the same way as the stock one is.

Previous twin engine cars that i can think of include an audi TT with twin 4cyl turbo engines. (Although maybe it was twin v6's.) And some company a few years back made a twin engine crown victoria of all cars. The twin engine idea is interesting for front engine front wheel drive cars which have comparably compact drivetrain. You simply duplicate it in the rear.

With the standard body as they show in the pictures, our cars would lift off long before reaching the performance of a Veyron. In fact, getting the aerodynamics right was one of the biggest challenges they faced with the Veyron - the shape is just not ideal for this speed.

Plumb 2 5.4 liter motors into that single tranny in the back.
Don't think even an AMG Merc 4-speed tranny will like that much.
It'll be lots of fun for the first few full bore launches . . .

Wonder if it's even possible to sync the 2 motors well mechanically.

Guess the back seats will have to come out to relocate the fuel tank/cell.
So this would yield a 65/35? rear front balance car. Great for rear grip.

Still waiting for one of them SC boys to add a rear turbo.

With no external breathing for the engine, you have to drive with the sunroof open all the time. Otherwise your brain will be sucked right into the MAF.

Nope. Why'd you wanna pull a tractor.

Them engines are right next to each other.
On a front rear rig, the linkage has to traverse about 3/4 length of
the car.
And don't know what the torque tube will do to the syncing.
Rear engine sits on top of the tranny with very short drive.
Front engine has got to whip that long tube up before connecting to the tranny.

I mean it's all hypothetical. Till one of you Minnesota Wisconsin boys build one. Don't one of you got that sick mongo HP motorcycle.
All I know is that the long winters up north make you guys build some real go fast hardware.

Some of those tractors have up to 8 engines!

It has been done before with front / rear engines. Most that I've read about have the front engine powering the front wheels, back engine powering the rear wheels. Few years ago in sport compact car was a custom with both engines powering the rear wheels. I think they used some type of fluid clutch in the middle to absorb any slack (if that is the correct term).
