Default Motorsport Utah not a MEMBER?

So I see Randy closed the part needed thread by Garrity. Then I think "petty, so he'll just post it again under Dave Lomas' ID" ... but I check out Dave's ID and .... "USER"??? I thought these dudes were sponsors? Or did they get bit in the butt by an expired account like I almost did, and ATB just did? Hard to remember to pay somehting that comes up only every 2 years....

No H, we have decided to discontinue our sponsorship of Rennlist. The return on investment was not a very good deal for us. We were paying a significant amount, considerably more than other 928 specific vendors it seems and the only item we were really selling on here was our crossover. We were paying the "Big Business" rate when it is only Garrity, myself and sometimes Stan. We lobbied for a lesser rate but that was not accepted by the powers that be. That is their decision and we will abide by that with no complaints. I have enjoyed sponsoring Rennlist, kinda' gives you a warm feeling knowing you are helping the whole 928 community in at least a small way.

We have cars lined up halfway down the block waiting to get in here, not enough time to do much product development let alone get any sleep. We are not going out of business by a long shot and we will continue improving 928's as long as 928's exist. Hopefully we will still provide the community with upgrades through our resellers.

I will get a personal membership and continue to help folks when I feel I have something to add (and for entertainment purposes!).

Well, that was disappointingly clear, concise, non-inflammatory, and classy.

There goes my Saturday matinee.

I would say its NOT easy to forget about the membership dues as an individual. I got the reminder in the mail to renew but I did not renew until I wanted to post an item for sale (but man I missed the member to member FS thread).

I am not sure how the renewal process works. I wonder if 1 or 2 years from the date you make your payment or 1 to 2 years from the Day that you first became a member (again, as individual member, not as a business) . If its the latter, then there is not reason to procastinate, you may as well renew on time. It its the first option, yeah, I can 2-3 months of extra membership (depends how you see it). Probably Randy or John D can clarify this or look into it.

I think it goes by when your payment/check clears, etc. I became a member in February 2002 but my last renewal check cleared last week so now it's into April so I'm guessing in two years my renewal will be the end of April. Another 16 years and my membership renewal will be back to February.

Very good of you to be monitoring things. I sure hope you have approved my actions.
