Joe, it was funy how you sneaked up behind me on Hwy 28 when I was trying to find Joe's home this morning. And it was a 928 of the same color as mine. It's gotta be a good omen to buy the car. Expect to see a liftbar order from me soon!
Joe, it was great to meet you this morning. Thanks for hosting your home for the great ocassion. Your enthuiasm for 928s is infectious!
Thanks to the both of you for letting me drive your 928s. I can't wait to get the PPI results! Hopefully, I can strip away my current signature soon.

Nice to meet you Andrew.
The car is very nice, I was impressed.
Joe's '83 euro is hiding in the garage, soon to be reawakened.

I got to show off my new-to-me old school (blipless) H4's:

It currently sitting at Stuttgart Autotech waiting for a PPI. Aother funny coincidence, I was driving to the airport to pick up a guest in the morning around 8.30 am. A 928GTS (Dark blue or black type color) came up behind me on I-84. The car had personalized plates: "IBONUS". Anyone around here?

Did the Pac NW guys think this car was worth that price?
$11K for an '84 with an unpopular brown interior seems pretty steep - even if in concourse condition.

This came from the Dec 2006 Excellence publication. 1984 928S = $8,319 (low condition) = $12,663 (excellent condition).
I used this as a guide and determined the $11,000 was a fair asking price. The price includes a spare set of excellent flat dish stock wells, new updated S4 transmission pan, car cover, unused front end bra. The Chiffon White works well. The off-white color complements the brown interior. Otherwise, I would not have picked the drab brown interior myself.
There is the added bonus for having a meticulous owner who has been collecting Porsches even before I was born (and I am in my forties!) He was a very nice guy who picked me up, hosted me and showed P-cars to me. He is also a fellow Oregon PCA brethen. I enjoyed talking to him and felt that he deserved every penny for putting his heart and soul into his 55K mile baby (assuming no major issues from PPI).

Andrew's car is rub-strip free too!
...
This would be my pick for a local 53K OB - $4500.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Note the S-spoiler delete option ('83).

The PPI did not reveal anything surprising other than what you (both Joe and Ken) noticed:
* slight brake pedal pulsation, likely warped/varied thickness rotors
* steering wheel cover unstitched at top, front and rear hatch struts weak
* rear wiper blade bad, w/s washers inop. (can't hear pump) and fitting at hood broken
* engine oil leaks at pan area, cam housings at rear damp, some oil residue at rear head gasket area - overall oil leaks minor for 928
This is stuff that I should be able to work on my own time. Not electrical gremlins were identified. Compression checks out well at around 170 to 180 psi across the board. I am not concerned about the lack of power with the early 16V cars. She will be a 928 weekend driver. Well, I made a decision to buy her. It looks like we have another Sharkie in town and it's time to change the avatar!
