Default ´85 32v cylinder head fits 944S 2.5 block?

Hi guys!
I know they ('85 928 32v and 944S) share valves, but is there any particular reason why 928 S 32v head wouldn't fit to 2.5 block? Leave cams tensioners etc out, just head physically to the block?
And what about port sizes, are they the same as 944S?

AFAIK 944 S uses same head as same period 928 S4, not '85-86 928 32V head. This includes different (2mm larger) diameter valves also. Still, early 32V 928 head should work in 944 block with minor mods.

PS. If you are looking for '85-86 32V engine parts, I have heads for example which I don't need.

I'd like to buy 16v head that has 100mm bore diameter. I have S2 head w/ 104mm but I'd rather wouldn't modify it to fit on the 2.5 block.

And I have brand new 944S stainless valves that I'd like to use.

I am guessing 85/86 32V 928 head maches 944S head

944 S was done in '87-88 MY. Its half of the S4 engine, not half of the 32V S engine. This means pistons are like S4 pistons, as are heads. Mixing 32V S heads and 944 S pistons results interesting compression numbers.

Good point! I always thought 944S was made in 1985 alongside the 951.

FWIW, the ports in the 944S head are larger than the ports in the S4 heads. Todd was looking into using a pair for one of his motors.

I'm currently in progress of building a 2.5liter 16valve turbo engine using 951 pistons. I have shortblock /w 951 pistons.
Hence the question about compatibility.
I have S2 head, but it has 104mm bore diameter and I'd rather wouldn't modify it but go plug&play

I have some 86 heads that are for sale for not too much. Maybe it would be worth your while for shipping to where you are in "Old Europe" You would only need one anyway.
