So Dave - I'm not quite clear - do you have to either relocate or delete the air pump filter to fit this? or can you keep it stock?

It looks really nice!!

How does the electrical switch work for the OB's with the mechanical fan?

EDIT - more on how the temp probe works. Does it just sit on the radiator? What temp switches it on etc...

Hi Alan,

Thanks!

You do not have to delete the air pump filter. BUT, you do have to cut the lower section of the original air pump "housing" off to clear the new fan. The original filter will fit back inside, but it sticks up to high for the lid to go back on. The solution is the special K&N we selected that has a chrome half surround. It slides right in the housing and is secured with 2 screws. We then supply a right angle fitting out the bottom of it that your original hose attaches to (see photo).

BTW, since it is washable it should be the last Air Pump filter you will ever have to buy.

Nice! The woosh noise at high rpm is the main thing I hate about the belt driven fan.

But wait, no fancy aluminum plate, in place of the shroud, to transfer the snorkels to?

And no programmable fan controller option?

See photos above for reference, the primary fan is activated by a small 180 degree probe inserted into the radiator and is powered by a 30amp relay/fuse that simply connects to the remote start terminal and factory ground point. It comes on when the upper (hottest) part of the radiator sees 180 and shuts back off at 170.

The Secondary high output fan simply plugs directly into stock front electric fan connector (inefficent stock front electric fan is removed and tossed) and is activated by the factory temp switch and the A/C frigen switch just like the original factory front fan.

Hmm, I wonder where mine is. I took that fan off many years ago.

Not a problem, just as simple as sending my file to the water jet dude.., how many you want ? :-)

BTW, thanks!

I don't know about you, but I got enough to program :-)

Seriously it seems to work perfect as it is. The first fan will come on with the 180 probe, then the secondary will come on with the factory temp switch on the lower of radiator or A/C frigen temp switch.

That's so hot, DR.

Anyone done any high speed tests to see how the air flaps affect cooling?
midlife cars with the electric flap close up most of the way if engine is cool.
But the time us 2.20 guys get up to 3000 revs, there's already blue and red flashing lights in my mirrors.

Hi Thor. Wooof.

Yep, Ferrari/Maserati thinks it is enough to keep their 2007 400+hp Ferrari engine and ac cool....good enough for me along with the testing I have done.
