Once you start moving above 20mph you don't need fans anyway. I've tested this many times with my supercharged 81 since my fans have a manual switch. I was stuck in rush hour traffic last July, 98+ degrees. Once I was able to reach about 20mph my temp would start to drop (with the fans off).

These radiators are very efficient.

Good point and our fan system also has flow thru vents that open up at speed which lets air flow thru most of the fan shroud. Other fan shrouds actually block part of the flow of the radiator and force it to go thru the fan diameter opening. This shroud has 18 (17 on 77-86 version) rubber flaps that open up to give the shroud a much improved radiator airflow when the fans are not needed (at speed). Neat idea from some smart people.

DR,
You should make a package for all OB owners. The fan kit + a new exhaust to run from the manifolds back (maybe a Stage 2 with 85-86 manifolds).

In one weekend an OB owner can seriousally upgrade their HP & help their cars run cooler since the original mechanical fan is probably broken.

So when when a new OB owner shows up and asks "How can I make my car go faster" we can point them to the package!!

Great idea and I will look into that as soon as I get finished with the other "little" package for the 16vers I am currently working on. This fan system and our new heat exchanger is part of the puzzle that goes with that and the 32V system. Ironically, I just got off the phone with my casting pattern maker (nice old school German "artist") and he had some good news for me...another piece of the "puzzle" heading for the foundry for initial casting on Friday!!!

Dave - is there a relocation bracked for the 85/86 throtle cable pivot? or do we have to keep the long snout, sans fan and belt?

Correction - still need the belt for smog pump, so we only gain addt'l room from fan removal? but not protruding bracket, yes?

Looks great!!

On our 85-86 Twin Screw Kits I use a relocation bracket(s). If there is demand I can make a different one for the stock 85-86ers also.

Correct , or....

>Correction - still need the belt for smog pump,

Or use a smaller belt that goes from AP directly to Crank Pulley?

>so we only gain addt'l room from fan removal? but not protruding bracket, yes?

Or you can do it that way too.

>Looks great!!

Thank you!
