Good to hear that you managed to sell the car, and on the other hand a shame as well.

When we were in contact in october, i was heading of to the 928 winter prep event. We ended up being about 10 cars.

You are right about the difficulty in selling a 928. It is matter of finding the right buyer. I also find that the cars seem to hold their value, provided that they are well kept and documented. Currently there is a 1989 GT listed here in Sweden for SEK 290 000 (USD 46 000). Less than 5 000 km's and like new.

And my 1990 GT was listed at SEK 240 000 (USD 38 000) with less than 9 000km's.

The other day i saw a 2000 986 Boxster S with less than 10 000 km's for 190 000 (USD 30 000). Wonder what the Boxster prices will look like 10 years from now, i mean they are all over the place.

Anyway good luck with you new "sportscar". It sure looks like fun.

Question for Niels (if he comes back here anymore) or anyone else that may know:
My early '87 S4 has the nearly the same interior with identical door skins without the dual external speaker covers. I assumed they were replacements from an earlier model year 928. Now I see your '87 with identical door interior... Do you know if those were replacement panels, or if it came that way from the factory? Is it possible that older style door cover was available as a 'delete option'?
Just curious, thanks.

There are several '87 ROW cars which still used old style door panels. Back then later style round speakers were just option and not standard in some ROW markets at least. Friend has '87 S4 which has passanger side seat memory which is fairly rare option. His car still has these old style doors. I haven't seen any '88 MY or younger without round speakers other than CS models. Its likely '87 was last year old style was used in normal S4.

Still here ...

I'm pretty sure mine was original - it had very few options, about as basic as they come. Probably due to the Danish tax system - cheaper car -> less tax.

Thanks for the response Niels.
Who needs extra options that don't make you go faster anyway
