Good one....... I think 3 factors killed the 928..... by far #1 was the HUGE price..... the 2nd was they could have started with a 300hp engine...but didn't.....3rd they didn't race it.....it would have been very successful & the old saying "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" still rings true....

Easy Answer! You fall in and crawl out...... similar to daylight savings time's spring forward, fall back. One thing for sure, you allways should be a "perfect gentleman" and help any ladies in a skirt get out of the passenger side. The visual benefits are particularly excellent although nowhere near as exiting my old jaguar XKE. That one required a "knee-to-nose pose and swivel" and it was "hard" to remember where you were and why you were there!

It's why my dad says he'll never buy one.

If you think a 928 is small try a 911. Theory busted.

I just got back from a drive. I was so energized that I don't even remember getting out of the car.

I'm 6'3 as well, and have my ABCs also, so I can't account for it. Prehaps I was floating. Like when you are dating someone fine, and you can't feel the ground with your feet.

Yeah, yeah. That's the ticket ! And some lady tried to offer me free drinks and peanuts in the driveway.

Anyway. I'm pretty sure that the PO was a very old man. The car gave him wings as well. I'm sure he died happy. Esp. with all that deferred maintenance. HA ! { I almost forgot to laugh. }

HTML Code:
the only problem I've ever come across getting into the car
while owning it is the rather large steering wheel.
Did you try moving the steering wheel to the highest position?

If you had spent your miss spent youth climbing in and out of English sports cars then you would have perfected the one leg hop and the 928 would be a breeze.

I always thought that the rear-engined Porsches, being difficult cars to drive well and easy cars in which to make a fool of yourself, appealed to deviants and masochists, who didn't expect life to be accomodating. The 928, being a forgiving car that tends to flatter its driver, never fitted that profile. The purists and opinion-makers decided that such a safe, sure-footed car couldn't be a true sportscar.
The 928's uncanny balance, predictable responses, and smooth application of power make it the best of both worlds - a kitten when you want to relax, a tigress when it's time to romp.

See da purty cars in da purty picture. The 911 is easy to get in and out of compared to the 928 whether the top is up or down. Me thinks you drank too many of the attached.

Thanks, Tim. Yes, it's mine. The color is called Horizon Blue. I fell in love with it when I saw it.

The 928 is probably one of the most comfortable cars I've ever owned or driven. At 5’10” & 165lbs, I fit in the cockpit pretty good with room to spare. But I too find it a bit awkward at times to get in & out of when compared to some vehicles. Personally I don’t think it’s all that bad and a small sacrifice to be able to own one.

Even so it’s got a heck of a lot easier to enter & egress than my little MGB.

Marton

I spent the better (subject to debate of course...) part of my life slithering in and out of early Lotus Europas as an alternative to morning stretches. Graduated to a 911, but not until a Dino and a Mangusta had been slithered into for a while, if you will.

Finally found sense in a Saab 900T, where you sit upright in a very luxurious throne, quite the difference from the Europas. Compared to all but the Saab, the 928 is limo-spacious!

I see your point. And I do agree. However. I think when "A" grows, you allow your "B" to grow. Plus then when you can actually sit in "C". "A" becames more important to the "X" than "B" Plus you are able to sit your "B" in "C". Thus making getting "X" much easier to obtain.

S-s-s-h-h-h, don't spread the word, my wife and I
are approaching our 'Medicare' High School reunion.

We find it sometimes difficult just getting in and out of the house,
let alone an (other thread) 'exotic' car. But some inconveniences
I endure. Some days are better than others and I can manage Marton's
one-leg hop in followed by a butt-wiggle to get settled.

In any case I always get out with a smile, so who cares?

G'luck all.
